Over the Summer, children were invited to sign up for free to the Summer Reading Challenge 2019. The challenge this year was Space themed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Moon landing in 1969 and began on Friday 12 July.
To complete the Space Chase challenge, children aged 4-11 needed to borrow and read six library books of their choice over the summer months.
Children who completed the challenge received a collector folder and collected special stickers along the reading journey. The mission of Space Chase was to help the Rocket family chase through Space and get back the books which aliens stole from the Space Library.
A member of the library staff came into our Friday morning assembly to award the certificates and medals to our successful “Space Chasers!”
