This year to celebrate World Book day the children were asked a couple of thought-provoking questions:
Do you have a dream job or life time ambition?
What would you like to be or achieve when you grow up?
So, for World Book day 2019 we asked the children to to share these with us all by dressing up as one of their ambitions. Vets? Astronauts? Dancers? We saw the whole range!
This year we invited all to enter our Reader’s Theatre competition. Part of becoming a reader and an important skill in life is to present to an audience. Therefore this year Miss Benn challenged the children is to make a text come alive by preparing a reading for performance. This could have been their favourite poem or extract from a book. They were asked to rehearse reading clearly, loudly and with lots of expression to engage the audience. Every entry received a certificate and 3 credits for their house. Children performed their reading to their class and then the two winners chosen performed in our World Book Day assembly.
