Last week Year 5 embarked upon the John Muir award run by Sean and Dominic from Absolute Adventures.
The John Muir Award is a national environmental award scheme. It encourages people to connect with, enjoy and care for wild places.
To achieve a John Muir Award everyone taking part needed to complete four challenges:
-Discover a wild place
-Explore its wildness
-Conserve- take personal responsibility
Over the four days we walked along Corbiere walk to discover the lighthouse; we picked Hottentot Fig- an invasive species that is killing the gauze bushes that are home to many birds; explored the caves at Plemont and coasteered around the headland at St Brelades Bay.
All in all the south west corner of our wonderful Island was truly well explored.
